Learning how to use our new Dog Tread!
Santa Paws bought the girls a PetZen DogTread for Christmas! Just in time for the post holiday snow storm.
Here is a 1 minute video showing Madison and Stella learning how to tread. It took me longer to figure out how to post this movie to Blogger then it did for the dog's to learn how to walk on the treadmill!
Watch how Stella has a bit of difficultly keeping up her pace after being given a treat. She almost slides off the back. Madison is a pro already.

We have a team logo
A few years back we had a logo designed so we could make labels for our dog cookies bags. To get some more use out of the artwork, I had the graphic design team at Logo Design Works use the illustrations to make a logo for our dog agility team. Here it is. I think they did a great job. Now we will be the best dressed at class and at agility trials, once I get the shirts printed.

NEAT Show-N-Go
We entered Madison and Stella in the Standard run at the NEAT Show-N-Go today at the Tonry Tree Farm. It was the first time for both dogs to run an agility course outside of their usual classroom setting and they both did exceptionally well!
We ran the yellow coded (light circles on map) course which turned out to be the most advanced and Madison was just about perfect. She knocked down one bar at jump 11 because I was in her way. Madison was very brave and despite some initial concern at the start line over the crowds, she focused on me and ran very well! Photos coming soon!
Stella was next and I ran her on leash, so I had to make up my own course to avoid the tunnels. She surprised me with her level of focus and the amount of confidence she seemed to have as she took the initial line of 6 jumps. Stella soared through the air and ran through the 12 poles perfectly. She wasn't bothered by the ring crew or the audience and handled herself really well.
Here is the course Map.

A New Friend
The girls met a new friend today - a rescued black lab mix named Nyla. She and Stella had a blast running around the yard together. Madison played tennis and kept the ball away from Nyla. Boomer, tried to get in on the action, but Stella was monopolizing her new friends time. Although Boomer and Nyla did have a good game of tug going. Here are some photos.

Doggles In Action
Hello Folks,
Last month, while eating at a Mexican Restaurant on their picturesque outside patio that had a wonderful view of the parking lot I witnessed the following:
A group of Bikers, preparing to roar away on their Harley's. Only something caught my eye. One guy paused and this adorable dog (Buster) jumped into his lap, wearing Doggles to protect his eyes! Buster was tethered to the man via a harness that went around his (the dog's) chest and the man's waist. Needless to say, everyone in the establishment asked to take a picture, me included!
So here it is - too cute.

Full House
Stella attended her first agility trial today! Fit-N-Trim held a mock CPE trial for dogs and their handlers who have never before entered a competition. Stella had 2 runs; 1 Full House and 1 Standard. She had a great Full House run and scored 29 points in 28.22 seconds! She only needed 19 points to Qualify, so we were very happy. Scribe sheet and course map attached.
